Michael Johnson

Born and raised in Alexandria Virginia I attend Alexandria Public schools. 1975 graduate of T.C. Williams H.S. ( now Alexandria City High) Father of 3 and grandfather of 8, served in the United State Marine Corps. attended NVCC. Works as the community outreach specialist for the city of Alexandria for the past 26 years also runs the city Safe Place program for kids in crisis. Has worked with national acclaimed group The Untouchables ( Kids At-Risk) as the first program coordinator , serve on several boards and commission , Alexandria African American Hall of Fame, Equal Justice committee (EJI) , Alexandria City Public schools Hall Of Fame, Keith Burns foundation , Hoop Academy International,Alexandria Living Legends , Fire Fighters and Friends 2 The Rescue, One Of the founding members of the SRG (Social Responsibility Group ) also a consultant with National Association of Drug Courts . Accomplishments : Mentored the 1994 recipient of the MLK Jr. Drum major for justice from Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC), Outstanding mentor of the year (Untouchables ), Empowerment award give by 8th district Republicans , 1992 nominee of the Presidential Points of Lights President G.H.Bush ,held private meeting with President Bill Clinton and members of group on
community strategies , Volunteer coach for Nike grass roots and City youth league, also received America's Promise award for Outstanding Community Outreach work. One of only 3 non-law-enforcement trained in CIT ( crisis intervention team). Also certified Gang Specialist by the state of Virginia. I've also coordinated community involvement with our first responders and other city agencies for the past 12 years improving on relationships within out communities
