Breylon Smith

Breylon is a social entrepreneur, educator, writer, and most of all a man of faith with God being the guide for his life. Breylon has spent more than a decade developing youth working in the public and nonprofit sectors. In 2019, he founded The Bridge Project, an organization that empowers young men of color through public speaking and leadership development. Professionally, Breylon serves as the Director of High School Placement and Alumni Programs at Higher Achievement and has been with the organization since 2014. Breylon is also proud to serve as a board member of Project Inspire that provides professional development and workshops to college students.

Breylon is from Youngstown, Ohio where he was raised by his mother and grandmother with his younger brother. He is a proud graduate of North Carolina Central University where he earned his Masters degree in Public Administration and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education (Cum Laude). He also earned a Nonprofit Management certificate from Duke University. Breylon has a passion to help others, inspire and challenge those around him, develop and collaborate with other leaders, empower young men of color, and serve the greater good.

Breylon loves his entire family and various circles of friends. His joy remains as a proud husband to Dominique and loving father of a baby boy, Alexander. They currently reside in the West End of Alexandria, Virginia.
